If your job includes diagnosing crawl, index or ranking problems, Google is running a free, application‑only three‑day technical program in Barcelona from Sept. 30–Oct. 2, 2026. The Search Central Live Deep Dive format is a sequential, classroom‑style study track that walks through how Google Search discovers, renders, indexes and serves content — practical knowledge for technical SEOs, site engineers and teams responsible for large or international sites.
What the three-day Deep Dive covers
The conference is designed as a progressive curriculum rather than a scattershot conference agenda. Each day builds on the previous one so attendees can trace a page’s lifecycle from discovery through serving and ranking:
- Day 1 — Foundation & Crawling (Sept. 30): how discovery and resource handling work, and how to use Google Search Console to diagnose discovery bottlenecks.
- Day 2 — Advanced Indexing & Beyond (Oct. 1): rendering, handling JavaScript and non‑textual components, how AI is applied in indexing workflows, duplication and canonicalization issues, and internationalization/localization considerations.
- Day 3 — Serving, Ranking & Trends (Oct. 2): how results are served and presented (including relevant AI features), ranking behavior, and hands‑on approaches for surfacing content opportunities using tools such as Google Trends and site performance analysis.
Each day ends with an extended Q&A focused on that day’s technical topics. The final agenda will be adjusted based on registrant interest and confirmed community talks, and published closer to the event.
The event also includes community formats intended to promote peer learning: 7‑minute lightning talks, poster sessions for one‑on‑one technical discussion, and informal networking activities designed for technical exchange.
How to attend and practical notes for applicants
Attendance is free but strictly limited and available by application only; the event is in‑person only. Key deadlines and logistics:
- Apply by Sept. 5, 2026. Invitations will be sent in the weeks that follow, no later than Sept. 10.
- Speaker submissions for community slots close July 28; applicants will be notified about selection by Aug. 6. If your community talk is selected, your attendance is automatically confirmed.
- Priority is given to applicants based in European markets; global applicants may still apply.
- The event language is English; no translation services will be provided.
- Organizers will not provide travel, visa or accommodation assistance.
Because the program is sequential, organizers recommend attending all three days to follow the full technical narrative. For teams, the event is a chance to align complex technical SEO practices with Google’s own explanations of crawling, rendering and indexing behavior.
Registrations and speaker applications are handled on the Search Central event site. Prepare concrete diagnostic questions (URLs, error patterns, internationalization scenarios) and concise community proposals if you want to submit a lightning talk or poster session.
What to watch next: watch for the published agenda and confirmed speakers closer to the event, and expect invitation emails after Sept. 10. If you plan to apply, prioritize your most pressing technical issues and consider submitting them as discussion prompts for the Q&A or as a community session case study.
